Moving from struggle to clarity at university
University gets talked about like it’s this exciting, independent chapter of life.
And it can be.
But a lot of the time, it just feels like you’re trying to keep up with everything at once—lectures, assignments, deadlines, people, expectations… and whatever else is going on outside of uni.
When that starts to build, it can look like:
feeling overwhelmed, even when you are trying
putting things off—not because you don’t care, but because starting feels weirdly difficult
stress that kind of sits in the background all the time
avoiding social things because they feel like more effort than they should
questioning whether you’re actually cut out for this
None of that is unusual.
And most of the time, it’s not about ability.
What actually helps (from what I’ve seen)
A lot of advice out there tells you to do more.
Be more disciplined. Stick to a better routine. Manage your time better.
But when you already feel stretched, that kind of advice can just feel like more pressure.
What tends to help more is understanding what’s going on underneath all of that.
Things like:
how overwhelm builds up (and how to notice it earlier)
why procrastination happens in the first place
how your state of mind affects how you think, focus, and respond
managing your energy—not just your time
finding a way to handle social situations that actually feels doable
None of this is complicated—but it’s also not always obvious until someone points it out.
And once it starts to make sense, things can feel a bit easier to handle.
What this course is
From Struggle to Clarity – Success at University is something I put together to walk through these ideas in a simple, practical way.
It’s not overloaded, and it’s not designed to add more to your plate.
It just covers things like:
focusing on what you can actually control (and letting the rest settle)
making it easier to start work without forcing it
balancing uni and everything else without burning out
dealing with stress when it builds, rather than waiting until it’s too much
approaching social situations in a way that feels more natural
actually using the support that’s already there
And giving you things you can keep coming back to when things get busy again.
About me
I’m Matt.
I’ve spent the last decade working with university students—especially around stress, overwhelm, and neurodivergence.
And a lot of this comes from real conversations, not just theory.
I’m also neurodivergent myself (ADHD), and I’m epileptic—so I understand what it’s like when things don’t always feel straightforward in your own head.
Why it’s free
Right now, the course is free.
Mainly because a lot of students who need this kind of support don’t always know where to look—or don’t feel like they can access it.
So this is just there as a starting point.

Go through it at your own pace. Take what’s useful, ignore what isn’t.
One last thing
You don’t need to completely change who you are or suddenly become “on top of everything” to have a better experience at university.
A lot of the time, things start to shift just by understanding what’s already going on—both around you and in your own thinking.
And from there, it tends to feel a bit more manageable.
yes. 100%. Not upsell required to finish the course.
